Ah yes. That one day in the week when we dive into relaxation, rejuvenation, and gear up for the week ahead. Whether it's Saturday or any other day, the essence remains unchanged. We indulge in exfoliating, pampering with masks, lighting candles, journaling, and perhaps even treating ourselves to mani/pedis.
Note: What one person considers self-care might seem like routine maintenance to another, but ultimately, we are intentional, and these activities are excellent for relaxation.
A couple other self care activities include massages, dancing around the house, taking yourself out for dinner and going to therapy. Yes, therapy.
Let's remember that self-care isn't just for the weekends. It should be something we do every day because it really helps boost our mood. Here are a few more self-care habits:
Countering negative thoughts with two positive ones
Avoiding comparisons with others
Keeping your body healthy with exercise
Whether you do your self care weekly, monthly, or even daily, it’s important for us to remember to put ourselves first. When we are our best self, we can be great to others!
